Stat's Review News!

As you may or may not know, in order to keep my radio going, I need to get a certain amount of listening hours. After a specific time period, the stats are reviewed by the hosting site and then that determines whether the radio continues. So, today, it has been 2 months since the radio has been broadcasting - I have achieved 71 listening hours per day (average 30 days) which surpasses the 12 hrs needed. However, the news I got today stated I am still a basic user until 30th February, so I have more time to get more listeners to achieve my next target!

The stats I have today :)
This is a bit of a boring post, but it is very important as it concerns the future of Just Another Radio :D

Top 10 Chart Comparison (22nd & 29th)

The Caesars are the first to keep the Number 1 spot so far this year! Each time someone keeps the spot, it will shine brighter :D However, there have been a lot of new entries and old entries kicked off. Jimi Hendrix has jumped in at #2, pushing Snow Patrol off the Top 10 and Princess of China to #3.

Florence + the Machine has remained on the charts at #10 but will she be able to hold on until next week? Other new entries include: Rosé, Message in a Bottle, Dakota and Hotel California.
So, this week saw some of the Rock Classics such as Purple Haze hijack the chart; tune in next Sunday at 12noon or 7pm!

Top 10 - Week 4 - 29th January 2012

The Caesars have maintained the Number 1 spot in this week's charts!

Record Stats Again!

Yesterday, Just Another Radio achieved a phenomenal 142 listening hours! I have now got 70hrs/day average (over 3 months) and I've only been broadcasting for 2 months! In the next few day's I will become an advanced user (as the 3 month aim is to get 12hrs/day) but this means I will have to get 130hrs/day!

So, in order to get 130hrs/day, I need to get a lot of listeners to tune in! The fact that I've got over 130 hrs twice in two months already is promising, and also recently in the last week the listening hours have been around 100 per day.

Also, in February, there may be an interview and live shows - so keep tuned in!

Top 10 Chart Comparison (15th & 22nd Charts)

So this week 'The Caesars' took the Number 1 spot pushing 'The Vines' down to number 3. As by request, Princess of China - Coldplay & Rihanna, is in the Top 10 chart and has been placed at number 2. Razorlight, Earth, Wind and Fire and Led Zeppelin have also made an appearance in this weeks charts.

Paradise by Coldplay has temporarily disappeared from the charts for the simple reason it is being overplayed on other radios; we hope to see the songs return in future charts. Also, notably, 'Shake it Out', 'The Wolves' and 'Fast Car' have remained on the charts.

We hope you tune in next week, on Sunday 29th at noon and again at 7pm! Enter your requests to justanotherradio@gmail.com!

The Good, The Bad and the Music.

The Good
Recently stat's have been very good - occasionally up to 100 hours a day! In about 10 days, the stats review will come in saying that I have become an Advanced Radio Producer and therefore starting then I will have 6 months to get 130 hrs a day. In order to do this you can look forward to some live shows, more songs, our own remixes (possibly) and other campaigns (ultimate playlist, up-and-coming artists etc.)! The future looks bright, especially if we get 130 hrs a day soon!

The Bad
SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act, not to be mistaken for Soap, a substance used with water for washing made up of a compound of natural oils or fats with sodium hydroxide) could potentially affect a lot of the internet however, the act seems extremely vague and for all I know this website and radio could be at risk; however, I doubt this as the radio copyright protected by Radionomy. We have placed a Stop SOPA banner in the top right of our website to show Just Another Radio's views, however, it is unlikely we will be also adding a 'Stop Soap' banner.

The Music
A recent update took place recently! I added a lot of new songs and artist's such as Ben Howard, Radiohead, The Verve, Cee-lo Green, Oasis, Guns 'n' Roses, Foo Fighters and many, many more. Also in music news, the Top 10 Number 1 for this week has changed once again! Submit your chart suggestions to justanotherradio@gmail.com or comment below!

Top 10 Chart Comparison

This Week's Chart
Last Week's Chart

Coldplay has been knocked off their number 1 spot by The Vines. The Vines famous track, 'Ride', is widely popular but has never received a number 1 spot; but we thought that they were worthy of the position.

'Pumped Up Kicks', 'Every Teardrop is A Waterfall', 'Crazy' and 'Lego House' have all disappeared of this weeks chart and have been replaced some older, but still great, tracks - notably, 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered', 'Heavy Cross', 'Fast Car' and this weeks number 1.

We hope you enjoyed this week's chart! Stay tuned for a new mix of Alternative Rock and Urban tracks every Sunday at 12:00 noon and  19:00 (GMT). If you wish to suggest a track for our Top 10, email J.A.R. at justanotherradio@gmail.com !

'What did you expect from the Vaccines? - The Vaccines' , 'Velociraptor - Kasabian' and 'Torches - Foster The People' are albums now priced at £3.95 on the UK iTunes. We recommend any of these because you will be pleased no matter which one you pick (and even more pleased if you buy all three).

1000 Blog Views!

The blog has reached 1000 views...

...but that's only a part of the success we've had this week!
Radio Stats
Yesterday, we had a record amount of listeners and a total of 137.46 listening hours (just yesterday!), which is incredible. I need to consistently get this amount in 6 months time, so the fact I got it within the first 2 months is awesome. Also, it means that I am on 21 hours/day (average over 30 days) and I will be becoming an 'advanced' user on the Radionomy platform.

Thanks to everyone who has been listening, and keep tuning in!
